8 Feng Shui Tips on Pre-Property Selection
Feng Shui Master Daniel Ong shares tips on how to screen properties before formal audit
If for some reason, you are unable to bring your Feng Shui Master with you for a series of property screenings. We have provided here a simple checklist for pre-property selection.
You should be excluded from your list if any one of the criteria fails to meet the mark.
#1 Main Entrance.
There should be a spacious external bright hall (flat open space) just right in front of the main entrance to receive the Qi. After stepping into the property, there should also be a spacious internal bright hall (flat open space) for the entrance of incoming Qi.
#2 Water.
This refers to external water features such as ponds, rivers, and canals. Ideally, water should move towards the property and not leave away from the property. We should avoid properties if we see external water feature is fast-moving or smelly. Based on Feng Shui principles, fast-moving water is regarded as negative energy or Sha Qi.
#3 External Structures.
There should not be any big trees, antennae, pylons, or menacing structures pointing toward the main entrance or the windows. We should avoid property that is located near to temple as it is used for spiritual rituals.
#4 Shape of Land & Building.
The shape of the land should be squarish, rectangular, or narrower in front and broader at the back. The shape of the building or house generally should be either squarish or rectangular. We should avoid T, L or triangular shaped lands.
#5 Roads.
If the residential development is near the highway, we should avoid the property if you can hear the loud noise of the heavy traffic. We should avoid T junction or end-of-road houses.
#6 Interior Layout.
We should avoid property with confusing interior layouts.
#7 The Sun.
We should avoid property with insufficient sunlight during daylight to ensure there is adequate yang energy in the property.
#8 Space Cleanliness.
If you find it uncomfortable or feel eerie when you have entered the house. This space may not be cleansed, and the house is not suitable for you.
